I'm always nervous driving someone *else's* car, and the drive in West Hollywood & Topanga Canyon on a Saturday night can be, errr, interesting, but fortunately it was an uneventful drive, and I had a great weekend... you know you're both special to me. I'd been meaning to post - my first - since seeing Catie at Slim's in SF in June. A great show and a great kickoff to glbt pride weekend here. Catie was utterly charming and funny, and, I thought, played all the right songs for the occasion. I am curious about the other bay area shows - in Palo Alto and at the Kate Wolf festival - any reviews? Also, if anyone has the set list from Slim's, or in particular, knows the name of the Morphine song that Catie covered, that would be great. I don't know all the email list etiquette, but to introduce myself, I'm Anne in SF - discovered Catie on KPFA within the last year and that's been a joy (some would say an obsession), and it's kicked off an exploration of other music, buying more CDs, going to shows...I was happy to hear Patty Griffin also at Slim's, and last weekend, Mary Gauthier and Richard Shindell at Noe Valley Ministry. Anyway, this is a very friendly list and has already given me lots of good info. Thanks all. Best, Anne ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #45 ******************************
