I'm starting to think it's her best album. I think maybe it's because there's so much percussion on it, I really really love it. And for the longest time, it's been Crash Course In Roses, Michelle Malone's "Homegrown" (awesome!), and Steve Earle's "Copperhead Road" on random play in my cd player. So I bought two John Prine cds, self-titled and In Spite Of Ourselves. Thanks for the recommendations, they are both excellent. That title song makes me laugh out loud everytime, especially when Iris sings "caught him once sniffin' my undies.." ha ha ho. I've got to go listen to it again, Tawni ps. Admin Deb, let me know if I still need to fix my config. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 8 May 2000 23:50:35 EDT From: JXB971@aol.com Subject: [dads-yard] new music << Who are you guys listening to right now, who should the rest of us be listening to right now, and what amazing shows should we have kicked ourselves for missing??? ;-) >> well i have ot say that my favorite new cd is the new erin mckeown. if you want fun music, thats not just fun, but has depth and serious brilliance, you better hear this new cd, distillation. i think the album art/pictures are worth the price alone. anyway, thats my input on that. and its related to that nields post, because erins cd is produced by dave chalfant (nields bassist). and erin has a cd release party at passim on 5/17, then she will be touring the midwest and west coast!! so for tawni in san diego i know she is playing there late june (25th??). check the web page to order the cd or find show dates! www.erinmckeown.com. :) jess ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #27 ******************************
