there are some really  exciting upcoming erin mckeown gigs that i have to 

tell you about.  first and foremost is her big cd release party at the iron 

horse on friday night.  it will be the very first time that her new cd, 

DISTILLATION (hot off the presses!!), will be available.  and having heard it 

already,  i have to tell you that it is an amazing collection of songs, a 

true work of art.  unlike any cd you have yet heard.  and produced 

by mr. dave chalfant of the nields, and with harmonies by such lovely and 
talented people as ms. katryna nields and ms. beth amsel.   rumor has it some 
of the 

aforementioned people will be present at the show.  a review is at the bottom 
for those not familiar with erin...

(or rather the festival the day before the march)!!!  she will be performing 
on Saturday April 29th at 12:10am sharp, a pretty short set.  

this is a huge national gay rights march and a real honor to be included in.  

also a chance for those of you south of the iron horse and boston to pick up 

the new cd.  if you are going or you know anyone who is, please spread the

for those who dont know her, this recent review from another list i'm on (of 
an iron horse show) sums her up pretty well:

<<erin mckeown started the show, and really, all i can say is wow!  ok, ok, i 
can say lots more, but i had to start with wow.  her voice is incredible.  
sooo much better than on her recordings (and i think it's pretty fabulous on 
her recordings!!)  it's so pure and smooth...  a little teeny tiny bit 
similar to catie curtis.  she sang lots of old stuff (starting with 
blackbirds) and some new stuff too, including a song that she wrote while 
hearing richard shindell.  needless to say, all were wonderful.  and 
something i was completely unaware of until i saw her up there,  she is a 
bad-ass on her little geeee-tar.  can we say chops?  she was just 
incredible...  the kind of playing you would expect from someone who has been 
performing for decades upon decades, not from a woman who has only been alive 
for two.  she sang le petite morte (aw yeah orgasm song!) which was thrilling 
for everyone there.  who doesn't love audience participation?!  i know i do!
