I'm needing some advice Catielisters. I'm trying to organize a benefit show in Seattle for the Lesbian Resource Center and would like to see if Catie would participate. Problem is I cant get through to anyone at Monterey Penninsula Artists. I've been calling for a week and they're either out to lunch or on another call. Has anyone else worked with them before? Do you have any tips on putting together a show like this? Do you know how open Catie is to playing for benefit shows? Thanks for the help! - -Susan ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2000 11:45:15 -0500 From: ssimpson Subject: [dads-yard] Radio stations I just got audio hooked up on my PC, and someone alerted me to the many radio stations available worldwide through http://wmbr.mit.edu/stations/list.html. Thanks for any help! Check out the links in the "radio" portion of my music index . There's also broadcast.com . And the proprietary Spinner player's "Female Focus" and "Folk" channels might appeal to you . - -- Deb \\ indigo@mindspring.com \\ http://www.mindspring.com/~indigo ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2000 21:13:54 EDT From: JXB971@aol.com Subject: [dads-yard] Boston Show 4/11 i wanted to let you all know about a really cool show that is happening tomorrow night in cambridge, mass. its a split bill with rose polenzani and andy stochansky at the lizard lounge. also new york based chamsi ruhe will be doing a set after rose's and andy's. i dont know much about her yet, but here's a quote: "visceral, vulnerable music... in its roots level of risk and truly inspiring in its gospel-like degree of no bullshit self-deliverance." -- billboard magazine i dont have to tell you how much i love rose, how brilliant i think she is. or how much amy ray agrees with me. but i will add my favorite new quote on her: "polenzani's tremulous voice has a beckoning power akin to that of a child ghost in a graveyard." --request magazine this is rose's last boston area show for a while, though she is opeing some shows for the indigo girls this weekend (at princeton, purchase, ny, and in dc). and her mountian stage appearance is airing this week (wumb: 4/22 at 2pm and 4/25 at 7pm). i also just got see andy's band again last week, and they always blow me away. there is a really unique energy there, not to mention amazing musicianship. so here's the scoop: Rose Polenzani/Andy Stochansky/Chamsi Ruhe Tuesday, April 11th, 9pm Lizard Lounge 1667 Mass Ave, Cambridge (between Harvard and Porter) 671-547-0759 for info/21+ show/$7 see ya there i hope..... please pass this message on to any person/list you think should know.... thanks!! jess b ------------------------------ End of dads-yard-digest V2 #12 ******************************
