I often thought it would be great to see Susan perform there since they do have a fair amount of, should I say, "crossover" Irish/rock acts. I had the opportunity to ask Susan once what the chances were of her performing at the fest and her response was that she "wasn't Irish enough for them." I think the fact that they had the wonderful La Bottine Souriante perform last year and scheduled again for this year along with some other questionably Irish music acts, proves that they may indeed be open to someone like Susan McKeown. This year Lunasa will performing at the fest and I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if they brought Susan with them and had her perform some songs with them and perhaps sit in on some bodhran? This would be a great way to give the fest organizers a chance to see and hear her. I have requested that they try to get Susan for 3 years now so they have to be familiar with her name by now. I even dropped her name to Ed Ward, the fest organizer last year during the fest school when visiting the "must see" Ed Ward Irish Music archives in Milwaukee. Anyone have any ideas or input on this? What in the world is it going to take for Susan to become more recognized, even among Irish music fans? ------------------------------ End of curiouser V2 #23 ***********************
