Was the church in Salem the only time you've had the opportunity to see Susan perform ? I've had the pleasure of seeing Susan in church a couple of times myself and feel it's the perfect venue for her. The acoustics perhaps ? I know seeing her belt out "Tam Lin" in front of the Continental Drifters at St. Ann's was a religious experience. One of her most memorable performances to date was when she did a show way out on the ass-end of Long Island in a little Congregational church in Huntington with Chris Cunningham and Lindsay Horner. Since she seems to be getting out on the road more often now that Brendan quit his day job to work full time on her career, perhaps you'll get a chance to see her in a more local setting. I first heard about Susan by way of Meth and Woj on Ecto. Ecto came into my life via their having posted about that list on RMTA, or it might have been on one of the KaTe lists. I too am a fan of Loreena McKennitt's, if you hear anything about her getting out on the road again, I'd appreciate hearing about it . The Town Crier's where I met Chuck and Joe for the first time. It's a real nice venue, not too big, not too small. I hope to get there since the Fleadh's not in the cards. The food wasn't too bad either if I remember right. If Chuck and/or Joe could drop me a line privately I'd appreciate it. It's about something that Woj and Meth mentioned to me at Sloan Wainwright's Living Room show last Friday that's got me worked up into a Savage Frenzy. In Mike's reply he typed; >>boo hoo i am NOT going to see susan at the crier > Umm... is this one of the signs of the apocalypse? If the show were set for 9/9/99 I'd duck for cover ! Is there a special skill involved in Town Crier reservations ? Don't recall anything peculiar about the last outing. Perhaps since you brought it up I should close and make the call.
