Since the virus spoofs the from address, it's very difficult to tell where they are coming from preceisely. What I do know is that one of the sources is in Madrid (or the surrounding area), and the other is somewhere in France. The protections I have in place on the list preclude it being used to replicate the virus, but I'm seeing 10-20 virus-laden emails a day being refused (meaning in my inbox). They may also be sending email messages directly to members of the list, as the viruses these days tend to harvest email addresses from existing email. If you are a member of this list from either Spain or France, you may want to update your virus software definitions and perform a full scan of your system. You may also want to consult http://www.symantec.com for further information about how to remove the virus. As always, I remind people to be wary of unsolicited email, particularly those that have all the hallmarks of a virus. Never click on an attachment unless you are 100% sure of what it is. If you don't have any sort of anti-virus software installed on your computer its worth visiting www.symatec.com as Greg suggested and downloading the free fix just to make sure its not on your machine. Don't open any emails with titles like RE:Movie, RE: Your application, RE: Details, RE: Approved, RE: Thank You, RE: Wicked Screensaver - Just delete any such email. ------------------------------ End of cranlist-digest V6 #13 *****************************
