Yes, it's really, really dead. I've been wondering if and where everyone has been talking about the 'berries. I only follow them peripherally, though I was quite impressed with the concert I saw a few months ago. Mostly, the band hasn't been getting too much press in the US. I saw a one-page interview with Dolores in a magazine, but otherwise it's been very quiet. Many of the old-timers are still around, though others are not. I just unsubbed a whole bunch of people whose addresses are no longer valid. If the list stays at it's current level, I might just decide to let it die completely. Well, regardless of the lack of life on the list, is there anything I've significantly missed over the last 7 months? I've basically just been going based on the official site. Are there any bootlegs out there from newer stuff? I keep emailing the berries, and have been told since BTH came out that they'll come down to Australia "soon" but as yet there are no plans anywhere for such a trip. I'm starting to lose hope, but would really like to hear ANYTHING from WUASTC live, and also hear live versions of some of the older stuff they've been playing recently (Away, Put Me Down, God Be With You, etc). Does anyone have anything? I was lucky enough to get a copy of the special double edition of Stars (my dad was in Sweden a few months ago). I was wondering how many were still lurking about. I have to say the show I caught back in July was the best to date. A really nice mix of songs spanning the bands career. I met the band briefly before the show. I had them sign a bunch of stuff for me, including a vinyl copy of UNCERTAIN. Dolores said the girl on the front cover is now in her teens and bigger than she is. Just a bit of trivia. The band has received very little attention as of late hear in the states. I don't think the critics take the bands music too seriously anymore. NNTA was the last album that received widespread attention. Thats not to say follow up albums were not "Successful". So how does everyone feel about the new single "STARS"? - -Eric ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 13:02:51 -0800 (PST) From: Gulsen Avci Subject: %Cran: Hi all! Hi all! Hey Johannes-- If you (or anybody else) are interested, I do have some some copies of a good many WUASTC bootlegs on my trading list here: http://www.zombieguide.com/herald/tradeinfo.htm It's in need of an updating though, I haven't updated it in a little while. Oh, and if you want to know what's new, you can always check out the news page on Zombieguide: http://www.zombieguide.com I try to keep my focus pretty firmly on news that isn't covered by the official page... it would be senseless to recopy it all, after all! There's lots of interviews and things compiled there if you've been "out of the loop" for the past few months, including some hi-res scans of the "Women Who Rock" interview which I *think* is the one that Greg just mentioned. Oh, and I just posted a brand new Album 6 feature, which compiles all the hints that the band has been dropping about their next album into one place. I did the same thing before WUASTC, so I'll probably be updating this section for the next.... oh, say, year and a half. hehe! If you haven't read anything about the band's wanting to do some "experimental" work, you'll definitely want to check it out. And if you're looking for yet another place to discuss The Crans, you can check out the Zombieguide Forums... we've got a pretty active community and our boards get a few dozen posts everyday, so be sure to take a look if you haven't already. Hmm.... quite a few posts to this list already today! - -Alex Zombieguide.com.... I'm sure she must be all grown up now. Wonder how she feels about having her picture on the front of an album? I love the new songs, and cannot wait until they come back to the states (Boston, specifically) so I can hear them sung live!
