The reason is because someone with a very sick mind has decided to report our site to Tripod for one reason or another and have all of our accounts cancelled. Apparently someone is trying to destroy years of dedicated work to The Cranberries. I've been working on Zombieguide for nearly two years now and it sickens me to think all someone wants to do is tear it down. So who did it? Hard to say. Although it can't just be random, as both mine (cranguy.tripod) and John's (zombieguide.tripod) have been reported by someone. Jealosy from other webmasters? Maybe, I can't say. But I would bet money whoever decided to do it is reading this right now. As for now, Zombieguide will remain down for awhile, perhaps until we can move everything onto a different server. John is a very busy man, and it will take him longer than anyone, I'm sure. I guess it just goest to prove that people think they can do better if they try to damage their competition rather than trying to compete with a better site. -Alex _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 17 Mar 2001 20:44:52 GMT+1 From: Yannick Subject: %Cran: Re: someone with a very sick mind The only thing you can say is that th person who do that is not capable to create his own site so he destoys others' sites. With all the controvesy surrounding Napster etc. that could be a reason for a web provider to shut down an account. - -Little ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 18 Mar 2001 02:17:32 From: "Alex Kraus" Subject: Re: %Cran: Re: someone with a very sick mind John, whose server hosted the main pages, had no MP3 files on his Tripod account, but has some on the Zombieguide server that we were linking to (B-sides, etc). I probably did have one or two small MP3's. However, when John contacted Tripod (who were of absolutely no help) they said it was "page outsourcing", were you put files on Tripod and then link to them elsewhere. In reality, it was the other way around -- we were linking to files from the Zombieguide.com server. But having both of our accounts deleted at the same time is more than a coincidence. And it's no use to complain any more, 'cause we'll never find the worthless slug who decided to brighten our day. But the rebuilding starts tonight... all the pages are going on the ZG server. -Alex - ----Original Message Follows---- From: LittleHoss@aol.com To: cranlist@smoe.org Subject: Re: %Cran: Re: someone with a very sick mind Date: Sat, 17 Mar 2001 15:48:46 EST Just out of curiosity, did any of your sites offer MP3 files?
