It all beagan when the music channels ignored the Cranberries. Many people of the mailling lists were encouraging CranFans to e-mail music stations. I decided it would be a good idea to offer a prize to the person who would have sent the most e-mails to the music stations. The CranRevolution was born. ZombieGuide's Europe webmaster Vincent Bert decided to make a sitre and the next day, The Revolution was online. The site is still accessible at http://membres.tripod.fr/thecranrevolution/ althought it hasn,t been updated since Vincent left for a 3 month class. In only 3 weeks, the Revolution site got over 1000 hits. Mass promotion was beeing used on ZombieGuide, Waltzing Back, Cranberries Tape trader, 21 Cranberries street and many other sites. 1 banner on 2 shown on the CranExchange, a banner exchange programm for Cranberries websites was the one of the Revolution. Over 10000 people saw the advirtisment and 600 of them clicked on it. In all, OVER 600!!!! e-mails were sent to TV stations all around the world. We did get some impact. A few TV stations aired the video and a few lucky cranfans got to see it. It was just enough so that I could be recorded by a fan and now the video is available for any cranfan who is interested. Also, a petition made by CranFan Ralph O'Neils was availalable online. I would like to thank everyone for participating in the revolution. Even if our impact was less thern what we wanted, we still had some impact. This proves that there still can be "Power to the People ;-) " bye bye for now jean|francois ================================================================ Jean-Francois Goyette (Fluoberry) E-mail me at dbgoyet@videotron.ca or cranberries@limerick.co.uk ICQ # 71892881 Webmaster of the Waltzing Back Website: http://pages.infinit.net/fluo1 ...And of The CranExchange: http://pages.infinit.net/fluo1/cranex "When I wrote this song two years ago, it was when terrorism was at a peak in Ireland. I have read some crazy reviews in my time, but this one could make history. While it's not as infuriating as some of the criticisms of the cranberries i've previously read, it rates the "appropriateness" of the lyrical content of BTH. It's a "Family" website, and it says Desparate Andy could lead teens to "reckless action." It does point out some "wholesome" themes on the album, but the way it's rated is funny. Read it for a good laugh: http://www.family.org/pplace/pi/music/a0006871.html ------------------------------ End of cranlist-digest V3 #140 ******************************
