We are due to begin recording a new album in August with Stephen Street. It will be great to work with him again, he always managed to capture something magical in our music. We hope to have it ready for release early next year. Now, what else is there? Oh yeah, We have been working with Storm Thorgerson again on cover-sleeves for the new DVD we were telling you about. This DVD will be called "Beneath The Skin", and it will contain our live gig in Paris last December, as well as other videos, interviews and some behind the scenes stuff. " So that's great, the DVD will contain videos too and not only the Paris gig...anyone who wants the original "dreams" video outthere ? Maybe it's time to ask them to put it on it ( I own the whole Everybody is watching it so why can't we...where this one can be found but may be it would be great to get it on a digital support... My 2 cents. I went to yesterday's Cranberries concert in Mexico City, and I'd like to share my experience with you. I've been a Cran fan since the "Everybody else is doing it..." album release in Mexico, and have been listening to them since then. I also went to their first Mexico City concert when they were touring with the "No need to argue" album. My girlfriend works at a local radio station, so she got us "Meet and Greet" tickets, so we could go to the aftershow "party" with the band. I was really excited about this so i took along with me the booklets from all their official albums so i could have them signed. The concert started 1:30 hour late, because they had their equipment stopped at customs, but the waiting was worth. They played lots of Bury the Hatchet songs, starting the concert with Promises, but they also played Animal Instinct, Just my Imagination, Desperat Anda (whicha was really cool!), they did Delilah, and also Dying in the Sun. I was very happy because they played my all time favorite song: "Can't be with you", which in my opinion, along with Fleetwood Mac's "Go your own way" were the best songs of the concert. They also played songs from the first album: Linger, Pretty (which i personally don't like too much), Wanted (payed in a very fast tempo, sounds great!) and ended the concert with Dreams. The concert lasted 2:07 hours exactly. There's one thing i'd like to know your opinion: I think Dolores sucks big time as a dancer. There were several songs in which she "danced" and she looked very goofy, she has absolutely no rythm!!! After the concert ended, we were taken backstage where we met them. I was AMAZED by Dolores cuteness. I can tell you that I didn't think that Dolores was pretty. From all the photographs I've seen of her in my whole cran fan time, none of them reflects Dolores real beauty. My girlfriend and I had chance to speak a little bit with Dolores and Feargal, (they were supposed to be there only for 10 minutes) and Dolores (she's so beautiful!) told us that she was amazed on how we'll we spoke in english, we asked her to autograph our cd booklets and she kindly did, she asked us on our opinion on the concert, which we told her had been lots of fun, and then we asked her on what she thought about Mexico (maybe an obvious and stupid question) to which she answered she was very intrigued and interested by Mexican Culture, and that she'd like to have more time to visit some of the most important ancient sites in Mexico. I have to tell you that i couldn't really pay much attention to what she said, becasue as I told you, she really is beautiful, and I just kept staring at her. Then we spoke with Feargal, he also asked us our opinion on the concert, he said that he had to play on rented equipment, because his drum set was never released by customs, then he told us that they were releasing a "Bury the Hatchet" rerealease, but with the complete session, meaning that all of the b-sides from that album would be available. They also said that they would record a new album to be released in the first months of 2001. We took a picture with the whole band, which as soon as i develop the film, i'll send it to the list. I also have pictures (which I think may be good) of Dolores alone, and the band members alone, which I will also send them to you if you want to. The concert was lots of fun and brought me back lots of good memories by listening to old Cran songs. I was much more of a fan by the time i went to their first visit to Mexico, but nevertheless, i can tell you that meeting them made me very happy. If you ever have the chance to see Dolores, face to face (not on stage), you'll be amazed by her simple beauty. David Marquez P.S. Any opinion on Dolores' "dancing"???? Anyone on the list who also attended the concert???? ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2000 09:39:46 PDT From: "David Marquez" Subject: %Cran: Cranberries in Mexico/Meet and Greet This is the first time I write in this list. Dolores's dancing is pretty bad, and I think she embarasses herself sometimes :) One thing that really gets me is the "chicken dance" where she starts starts moving her fists like windsheild wipers.. I don't know how else to describe it. As long as she doesn't do anything retarded like that, her dancing isn't so bad (take the RT video, for example) Anyway, I do think her Irish jigs are pretty good... they usually accompany "Liar". I have an interview somewhere of her in the UK around '93 or so saying how all the Americans were facinated by her jigs :) -Alex - ----Original Message Follows---- From: "David Marquez" To: cranlist@smoe.org Subject: %Cran: Cranberries in Mexico/Meet and Greet Date: Mon, 10 Apr 2000 09:34:00 PDT This is the first time I write in this list. You can now get it at sheet music plus. http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/a/phrase.html?id=52275&phrase=Cranberries Please note, it's not a piano/vocal/guitar, it's just vocal/guitar (fully tabbed as well as standard notation). Mine arrived yesterday (I thought I'd wait until it comes before I advertise them, as I hadn't dealt with them before). They were quite prompt with the order, I recommend them.
