However, the other day I was flipping through the channels, and I landed on this one and they were playing JUST MY IMAGINATION!!! I heard it again today, my friend said she heard it the other night. This is very strange because they have not played "Promises" or "Animal Instinct" ONCE. They were totally ignoring The Cranberries (a la mtv), but now they've begun to play JMI and it hasn't even been released yet! :D This makes me very hopeful that JMI will be the "comeback" hit for The Cranberries in America. It seems that this album has been doing well everywhere but America. It would be great if the Cranberries would be back "in style" over here. In other news, Dolores made #20 on vh1's 100 greatest women of Rock n Roll internet vote! (www.vh1.com) This is a great ranking, the only thing that bothered me was that she was right under that over-rated show off, Sarah Mclauchlan. [...] Hmmm... make that everywhere but America and Australia... I have seen very little promotion for any of the singles and also for BTH (almost none, in fact). They're getting a little airplay on MTV, but that's about it. Sales aren't that good either. - -- Schmidty schmidty@schmidty.simplenet.com ICQ# 8568011 http://www.schmidty.simplenet.com/ "I don't want to mean anything to you I don't want to tempt you to be true" -Tom Petty (Echo) ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 26 Jul 1999 16:12:41 +1000 (EST) From: Nic Carter Subject: Re: %Cran: good but strange a comment on Oz & the cranberries atm:: I've had to order in the AI singles, since I don't believe that they even released a version of AI in Oz... I received them today, which is good, and shall go listen to them after this... as for the album... apparently there was a poster of BTH in a store around where I live... one, in one store... haven't seen it... the sales of BTH has been very low, along with the sales of promises... I have heard almost no air play of the new berries stuff, and there has been basically no ads for it... I'm under the impression that the management has given up on Oz & the berries for this album, and I'm desperately hoping that they come down here on the tour even tho they seem to have given up on us... :( or is it just my imagination??? nic... BTW: for those of us who have icq there's a message board called The Cranberries Conquer the World, it just started so if enough people start leaving messages it could be pretty interesting.
