Well, I think you are right in a sense. But what I can say is that I had the opportunity to get my hand on an early Zombie demo which they played on a radio session more than 1.5 year before they release NNTA. EEIS had just starting selling well abroad. If you take Zombie apart from NNTA, most of the other songs are not that louder. I guess they became louder with TTFD as they wanted (IMO) to make a new Zombie like song which had been such a success, " Not Hollywood." I am glad that they tried to come back to their roots with BTH, but as we has always said on this list (I know this one will makes people talk) EEID has something that the others album don't have... And though I still like them, I am not as fond as I was when I started listen to them 7 years ago. What I have noticed the last couple of years is that the louder the cranberries become , the further away I went from them, trying and succeeding finding in others artist/band/songwriters the very special essence of EEIDISWCW. I don't say I don't like BTH, though I happened to say that before it was even released (which leads to a great flame war onto this very list), I just though I'd share my observations. Francois.
