I'm not sure of the song. Lokk for the Q with the Corrs on the >cover. Yep, I went to the city of Nijmegen (wow, what a wonderful city :)) today and bought that Q (154, July 1999) [2.80 Eng. pounds, ASCH 88.00, DM 20.00, Lire 10,800 and I paid 14,75 guilders]. The CD contains the next tracks: 1. Texas - Saint 2. Stereophonics - Roll Up & Shine 3. Underworld - Push Upstairs 4. The Beautiful South - Liars' Bar 5. Mercury Rev - Tonite It Shows 6. Happy Mondays - Lazyitis 7. Ash - Numbskull 8. Supergrass - Late In The Day 9. THE CRANBERRIES - FEE FI FO 10. Jurassic 5 - Jayou (clean) 11. Reef - Back In My Place 12. Garbage - Special 13. Blondie - Rapture 14. Basement Jaxx - Same Old Show Well, if only for the CD, i'd say: spend your money on something else. Fee Fi Fo is just the album-version and the other songs aren't that great (I think). The magazine by the way holds some nice articles about The Corrs, The Verve and Paul Heaton. Ow, by the way, there was this little "song-description" in the magazine: - --- 9. The Cranberries Fee Fi Fo Taken from the album Bury The Hatchet (Mercury, 1999) The vibe: A grainy black and white kitchen sink drama set among the terraced houses and twitching net curtains. Life is rubbish, but you still have your pride. Meanwhile, Albert Finney angrily pounds his fist against an ironing board because Rita Tushingham doesn't understand him. Intense. Best listened to: wallowing in self-pity Live at: to be confirmed - --- Well, this doesn't mean a thing to me... I really don't know what they are talking about, but well, the song rocks (as we already knew :)). Ralph info@noviomagum.com ~Life isn't about avoiding mistakes, it's about dealing with them~ ~Superfactial Homesick Talent, May 26 1999~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 17:27:19 +0200 From: info@noviomagum.com Subject: %Cran: Animal Instinct-single Heya! Well, if you read my message about Q-magazine, you may remember that I went to the city of Nijmegen today. Well, yesterday I went there too and bought the AI-single! The record-store I usually go to hadn't got it (yet?), but another store fortunately had a couple of 'em in stock. Well, what can I say? AI rocks just as much as on the album. Paparazzi On Mopeds (which I'm listening to at this moment) is a very nice song, which, for some reason, really wouldn't have fit on the album (in my opinion). I'm pretty sure it's about the death of the Princess of Wales ("Who was too blame, was there too much champagne or wine, it could have been fine", "Another celebrity died" and "Another icon is destroyed") and I don't think that's a bad thing. I main, if it had been released at the same time as Candle In The Wind it would have been "just another Diana-thingie", but now it's something like "do you remember?". I like it. Well, the other two tracks (Ode To My Family and Salvation, live @ Hamburg '99) are just two live tracks. Very nice to listen to, but nothing special (except for those of you who went to that concert ofcourse, which brings me to a question: did any of you guys attend the concert at 013, Tilburg (The Netherlands)? Or do you have any pictures/bootlegs of this concert? Please contact me, I was there (too)...). Well, that's all for now... Thanks for your attention :) Ralph info@noviomagum.com ~What would you do if the question's much harder to ask than to answer?~ ~Superfactial Homesick Talent~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 20:14:35 +0200 From: info@noviomagum.com Subject: %Cran: Don't read this message, it's useless :) Hi, here I am again :) I read both of my messages back and noticed they're REALLY full of spelling-mistakes... Argh... I studied English for 7 years at high-school and I'm still making the famous "to"-"too"-mistake... Well, it's famous in The Netherlands anyway :) Well, whatever, I hope you'll still understand what I mean :) Errr... wondering what the reason of this message is? I really don't know, but I felt I should send it :) Ralph ~He adopted several birds before he flew to his savage and cried~ ~Superfactial Homesick Talent~ ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 15 Jun 1999 20:42:14 -0400 From: "shannon dufort" Subject: %Cran: Animal Instinct I heard Animal Instinct on the radio..... Hello, Has anyone in Canada seen the AI singles for sale? Seems that they should have been released today, but maybe not. Anyway, if anyone has bought one, please post your experience to the list. :) Thanks! - -Brett ------------------------------ End of cranlist-digest V2 #158 ******************************
