The Cranberries did a song on an album called "Tribute to Fleetwood Mac." The single was "Go Your Own Way." It was great but I can't find it as a single and I don't want to buy the cd because it has a bunch of artists I don't care for. Does anyone know where I can get this song? Well, I suppose they should know when they promote the berries, anyway and usually they decide about at least they first three singles before the album is released and make a forth or even a fifth one depending on the album's (or single's) success. The latest Mercury Newsletter on the other hand also stated that radio stations will get the new single's promo at the beginning of next week, so this is pretty sure. ;-) Take care, - Frederik +++ ICQ *3887587* +++ *Homepage at* http://www.puti.de/home +++ +++ *Cranberries Cover Gallery* +++ http://www.puti.de/crancovers +++ - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message. Cranberries come roaring back By Kevin O'hare MSNBC NEWS SERVICES April 27 - The lead singer of the Cranberries, new mom Dolores O' Riordan, gets into a barroom brawl with a woman she thinks is trying to steal her man and then turns the incident into the ferocious song "Delilah." That song is one of the highlights of the Cranberries strong new album, "Bury the Hatchet." The Cranberries, "Bury the Hatchet" (Island) Heralded as one of the bright new bands on the alt-rock horizon just a few years earlier, the Irish troupe was fed up, burned out and seemingly headed for splitsville. When they abruptly shut down what was slated to be a massive world tour in 1996, it seemed like it was time to put a fork in the Cranberries Though they certainly disappointed fans and infuriated promoters, the Cranberries apparently did the right thing for themselves. Lo and behold, they're still here, survivors after all, back with a new disc and reinvigorated so much that they're rarin' to hit the road once again. "Bury the Hatchet" is a solid effort, a 13-song set sparked as always by the truly exquisite vocals of Dolores O'Riordan. Though she's known to deliver the occasional sumptuous ballad ("Dying in the Sun"), O'Riordan is one singer who's at her best when she rocks and rocks hard. That's why the killer lead single "Promises" ranks right up there with earlier Cranberries hits like "Zombie," and why the ferocious "Delilah" should be absolutely devastating when delivered live. The latter song was inspired by an incident in which new mom O'Riordan got into a barroom brawl with a woman who she thought was trying to steal her man. Ah, long live rock. Those tracks get a huge boost from the throttling style of drummer Fergal Lawler, who plays a major role in the Cranberries' overall sound. Though no other cuts match the intensity of those, several other standouts can be found here, ranging from the shimmering pop album-opener "Animal Instinct" to the snarling, very produced "Loud and Clear" and the nostalgia-laden, harmony-filled "Just My Imagination." The only disappointment with "Bury the Hatchet" is that it definitely loses some steam during the second half. Cuts like the rapid-fire "Copycat" and the lyrically lackluster "Desperate Andy" miss the mark, while ballads like "Saving Grace" pale in comparison to some of the more fiery fare. A few tracks do hold up the back end, though, particularly a disturbing song about child abuse, "Fee Fi Fo." It's good to have the Cranberries back in the game. Based on this album alone, they were nowhere near ready to pack it in. - Kevin O'hare, Newhouse News Service - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message.
