It will be a great single... Linger was showed along with Thank U from Alanis at the end of the program, for me Linger was not taped during the concert as in a shot of the stalls, they were empty, and that version was incredible I think... Beautifully done! I think it's a great song. Someone was complaining about the guy doing the backing vox... I actually thought it sounded quite good. I especially thought it was a good effect how Dolores did the harmony part (instead of him) in the doo doo doos (at around 2 mins 10 secs). To me it's a little bit Sunday-esque, because of the slow intro, leading into the faster song. At the same time, the intro also reminded me a bit of the Electric Blue intro. I don't think it should really be compared to either of three previous albums. I would have said that the guitars sound a bit TTFDish, but I think, while the guitars are distorted, it doesn't sound quite as rough as TTFD. Anyway, enough with my analysis... I think it's a great song! Ciao. I've listened to it about a dozen times, and I think it's AWESOME! The first bit initially reminded me of Uncertain for some reason but I think now it's more like Electric Blue, as somebody else said... and the bit where it's sort of counting in to the louder part made me think of a live version of Dreams... but anyway, it's a great song, I just let my mother listen to it and she thinks it's better than a lot of their other songs too.
