Well, now here in latinoamerica we had today the oportunity to see Dolores and Fergal at the Mtv-Europe Awards. She look great, with a look somehow like "the fifth element".You know all the rest, Natalie Imbruglia and bla, bla, bla Not Cran-related: Alanis was broadcasted yesterday in an interview in a program called "El Rayo".Perhaps you can find something at "http://elrayo.sion.com" (without www), or by sending e-mail to this site could ask them to put something about that.Something more, the name of the 'leader' of 'el rayo' is also Dolores. And Cipress Hill is coming on Saturday for an AIDS benefic show. That's all folks, biru-biru-bye :))) ================================================== Un E-Mail de: Matias G. In other words, if you had to describe The > Cranberries' music or even the band itself (to someone who's never heard of > them), what would u say? This is an interesting and complicated question. I guess I'd start off by saying they were a four-piece Irish band with a female lead singer. Then I'd tell them that Dolores (the lead singer) had the greatest voice ever, that she sounded like an angel. Then I'd try to describe their wide variety of sounds from dream pop guitars to synthesized keyboards and distorted guitars to gothic chants with organ backrounds. I'd say that the greatest feature of the band was Dolores: her voice, singing style, and song writing techniques. I'd decribe the overall mood of most of the songs and dreamy, dark, and very haunting and emotional. Even the upbeat songs have strong emotional atmospheres. I'd also talk about how the cranberries can take what otherwise would be simple chords and solos and make them so strong, that anything more complex wouldn't be enjoyable. (I doubt the cranberries themselves are aware that they have this power.) I've noticed that especially on the clip I heard of the song "Chrome Paint". I heard TWO NOTES from the guitar in that song that were so haunting, my heart started racing. By this time the person I was talking to would either be fascinated or think I was a lunatic. If they were interested, I'd first recommend NNTA because that's what I started with. I'd tell them my favorite songs from every album and leave it up to them after that.
