Well. It doesn't sound good to me. If they re going to make an "AQUA" like album, I am not interested anymore. I still do think that the best songs were written on the first album and they were not especially happy. But this is my own opinion. Another thing : why the official site does not mention anything about the new album, when MTV site gives us so many ddetailsabout it. I don't understand what the webmaster do... I think we could be updated more often. We are after all the hugest fan over there. It's sad. Well, just my 2 cents... Nawwar" Subject: %Cran: a question to ask yourselves as I was reading the last couple of questions, I thought about a certain issue that I don't recall has been mentioned in the past 3 years of being on this list. the question to ask yourselves is: How do you view The Cranberries? In other words, if you had to describe The Cranberries' music or even the band itself (to someone who's never heard of them), what would u say? I found this very interesting. Someone described their music as moody and depressing. another person said they wouldn't be happy if there were happy songs (ironic-i know) so how do feel when you listen to the cranberries? hyper, depressed, or what? I can say that personally when I'm hyper, i listen to 'jumpy' music that makes me wanna dance. When i'm really mad about something, i might listen to Nirvana or Bush. But when i listen to The Cranberries, i want to listen to comforting, soft music (from teh first and sometimes second album. However, if I have lotsa energy, I'd listen to "Salvation" or "I Just Shot John Lennon" (the 3rd album for new fans) and probably "Zombie". How do I picture The Cranberries? well, that's hard to answer (makes u think, eh?) I'd have to say meaningful true music with amazing deep lyrics. The music is pure, unique and original. Some songs represent life experiences with its lyrics. This is when I realize that I truly love their music and that's what has kept me a fan for all these years, even without an album for about 3 years. This is how i see the cranberries. Now let's listen to what you all have to say. ps.- one thing I have to add is that I disagree with the person who said the music is depressing. I have depression(not severe- just moderate) and listening to the Cranberries actually makes me feel abit better. It doesn't make me feel worse. maybe it's different for you but i would say that it's definately not depressng music to me - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message. This definately fuels my fire :D (corny, but totally sincere). We actually know the name of the first single! I'm also very titilated (dont you hate that word) by the fact that the new album has a "bizarre" sound. THAT should be interesting. Now people I know some of you are concerned that this album will be "too happy", but I'm certainly not afraid because i know it will still be great (they've never dissappointed me before). And besides, with the birth of dolores's baby and the marriage of the three guys after the release of TTFD, it would be kind of strange if this album were not happy. One more IMPORTANT THING that Paul forgot to mention: If you go to mtv.com and go to the article you can also listen to a real audio clip of dolores and fergal!!!!!!! (i dont know about you but i always like to hear dolores speak) a very "happy" Ashley - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message. I'm am awestricken by what Francois said and some others are saying; worried that the cranberries are some sing-songy band now playing HAPPY songs! Well they aren't REM, and they don't do corny crap. The cranberries always make good music, and the new album will be no exception. In fact I guarantee that the new album will be their best yet, and I'm sure all the true fans out there probably feel the same. Because they are more experienced musicians now, they know exactly what they want to do, they are at good times in their lives with the marriages and baby and so forth; everything points to this being an outstanding album. Think about it, they said that the music is going to be more like their old style, and I think most fans liked that the most!! So what the hell is anyone worried about? Expect nothing less than good old, one of a kind cranberries music! I think their Irish blood is going to shine through on the new album with the music being witty, humorous, and eccentric. I truly can't wait.
