My name is Rafal [Rahfahw], surname Zajac [Zahyontz]. I'm 22 yrs male, single, from Silesia (south part of Poland). My hobbies are music, computers, s-f books and languages (especially english). Long ago I used to learn to play accordion for three years. I've been studying computer science for two years. Music was very important to me before I finished 10. My first fav singer was Shakin' Stevens. At that time I was listening only pop and electronic music (Jarre, Vangelis, M.Oldfield). When I was 15 I realised I liked Metallica and Guns 'n' Roses - - - I went into rock music. At the age of 18 my cousine introduced me to Dead Can Dance "Within the realm of a dying sun" but when I listened to other albums I didn't like them and actually nothing happened. Two years before that I saw "Linger" on MTV and I thought it was a VERY good song so I taped it but it was too little to become a fan, other songs from EEIDISWCW were completly unknown to me. I always thought I had quite a good memory for names of bands, titles of their songs. No wonder that I knew who The Cranberries were when I saw "Zombie" in the autumn of 1994. I liked it from the very beginning and from that time on I had my eyes and ears wide open for 'berries. "Ode to my family" made me realise that this band was going to be important to me. So on April the 4th I bought NNTA on CD which was extremely unusual for me 'cause so far I had dozens of dozens of MCs and only two CDs. I remember my feelings when I went out to buy NNTA : I was terribly afraid to be disappointed, I had great expectations about that. Well, I loved it :))) It afected me a lot. During the first week I was in some kind of doldrums, I felt like crying, I'm still not sure why. After 4 days I bought me EEIDI... In march 1996 I subscribed to this list (I still remember Mark North, if I'm not mistaken, who kept irritating others by his large posts with only a few words). "Salvation" disappointed me as well as the album. IMHO TTFD contains a few great songs but I can't find there the magic mood from NNTA and EEIDI... I unsubscribed from the list after several months and subscribed again in April this year. At that time I became a great fan of Dead Can Dance which is the subject of the other m-list I'm subscribed to : aion. This summer I came to London and bought some singles (the most precious : Linger for 9 GBP), the interview disc and "Doors & Windows". Unfortunately I couldn't find any bootlegs. I think it's enough for now. *************************************************************** BLISS (Rafal Zajac) ICQ 11803571 Silesian Technical University in Gliwice, Poland http://www.polsl.gliwice.pl/~bliss bliss@zeus.polsl.gliwice.pl - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message. If you wanted to look at this page and only encountered the University of Alberta Home Page, accept my apologise please , because the path to this Cranberries Website is: www.ualberta.ca/~clp2/cranberries/index2.htm and the name is:"The Cranberries 'Empty' Home Page" (if you can't acces the full path you can search at the Univ. Home Page by the name) There you will find the MP3's (if you don't have them yet) of many of the B'sides of the Cranberries as well as other important stuff. I recomend this site because it helped me as Cranfan and think it could help other Cranfans two Once again, sorry for the mistake - -Walko ================================================== Un E-Mail de: Matias G. Horrido, *cranlist*, new list, new update... ;-) Hopefully it will not take such a long time again to update the cover gallery, but I had much too much to do lately... Anyway, there are three major updates for now: - The "Check Out" section has been updated - with Stretch Princess, of course. ;-) Thanks again to all the ones that told me about them - You can now find the covers of Dreams Pt. 1/2 in the EEIDI Singles Section Thanks here to whoever it was who told me about RedEye Records... :-) (Johannes, was it you?!) - Finally you can find the covers and other relevant pics of three bootlegs in the boot section. More to come, noone to thank. ;-))) So far for now, - Frederik Tschüssi, cranlist +++ ICQ *3887587* +++ *Homepage at* http://www.toevo.de/puti +++ +++ *Cranberries Cover Gallery* +++ http://crancovers.home.pages.de +++ - --------------------------------------------------------------- This is the Ridiculous Thoughts Mailing List Send posts to : cranlist@smoe.org Send unsubscribe requests to: cranlist-request@smoe.org Put "unsubscribe" in the BODY of the message. Oh, yeah, how I remember the hospital in Krefeld (middle sized german town), lying around in that tiny bed, watching the other babies coughing, crying and wetting their diapers, while I was already preparing for the move to St. Tönis (smaller german town with about 25.000 inhabitants), where I grew up. At least, mentally... I hope... The Kindergarten finally showed me how to use lego ("Why shall I build an ambulance?! I do not like ambulances!"), why Santa Claus is Santa Claus, that I always had to say "I am finished" when leaving the john (what a strange word anyway...), and that one may never never ever take the other childrens' toys away, if you do not want to feel their teeth in your backside. In elementary school I was taught how to rait... write, and well, shortly after that I was reading my first ecyclopedia... Okay, I was not that fast, but at least the book had no pictures anymore. Ahhhh... Those were times... Then it was time for highschool and history, computer studies, english and german, all those subject I have to do fot the final exam in 1999... 1999... Wahhh! Maybe I... Maybe I should not do the dammit homepage and rather try to study. But I guess this is worth while... And afterall I have to tell you, that 1993 my very first computer rushed into my house... Mmh... It actually was not my house, but the ones of my parents and it neither was my first computer, I had an Amiga before, but I guess you understand what I mean. Oh boy. Now we could do a good old nice fashioned school magazine (did I tell I had mutiple personalities on board?), printing out homeworks was possible and yes, I sure had a soundcard to record dump and disgusting fart sounds myself, but this is definitely another topic. And so it was time to contact the rest of the world, and who remembers May 1995 might also remember my very first: NO CARRIER... What? No! I meant "Hi there". :-) I am still keeping my very first flame. :-) In a little golden box, and it was not about crossposting. But who could tell me it was not proper writing 50 postings a day in one newsgroups, even if it was the german Star Trek group... And one year after I finally got real internet access, and everyday some fresh flowers from our phone company... Weird, I have no idea why, but anyway, that was all so far, I gotta go and rob a bank, it's time for the next phone bill tomorrow. Even if it sounds, as if I like myself. ;-) Nooooo!... After all, the pictures of myself are just hanging at the ceiling, so I can only see them when I sleep. Mmh, I guess there was not much change since 1979 after all. The Berries were actually the first band I ever really listened to, as I never thought I would like more than one song from a band for longer than two weeks - which of course was Zombie for a start ... Back in 1996, when I heard Salvation for the first time I decided to buy the album - and guess what, I liked it. ;-) So much, actually, that I could not stop buying old singles, of course the other two albums, all bootlegs I could find and some other stuff that I could get... And not only that, I also found out to like other bands like "echobelly" - which must be similar great than the Berries -, K's Choice, Artificial Joy Club and of course Catatonia, with there Welsh charm... Oh, their new single "Game on" has been released today in the UK - hint, hint. ;-) Now, all those singles fill my cd racks now - why do all those band release so many B-Sides anyway?! Mmh... That is pretty much it, I presume, so I'd rather stop here...
