'Home' for who? Not Xena, not Gabby (who incidentally is greeted by Marga as an Amazon Queen - but I thought she gave up her Right of Caste to Eve in Lifeblood) - and certainly not Eve. Of course the Amazons certainly weren't going to greet Eve as an Amazon Queen. A fair bit of irony going on there. As I've noted before, the area around the Amazon camp (of Sin Trades and Them Bones) had been logged when this ep was shot, the production crew very neatly incorporated the devastation into the episode. Sadly, the rest of the area is due to be logged this coming March (it was last March, but was reprieved due to 'filming activities in the area' - probably Legend of the Seeker). I'm slightly devastated, it's a magic location just for walking in. I did like the slightly bemused way the Amazons and Ares army, about to do battle, watched as Xena and Ares resorted to fisticuffs and then galloped off the scene. And I thoroughly applauded their tacit mutual decision, since their casus belli had disappeared, not to bother fighting on this occasion. The Furies were great and over-the-top as usual. Just when I started to think that Xena and Gabs were playing some very strange game with Ares, they morphed into the Furies - very nice bit of CGI there. Also noteworthy, the chakram's new long-range stand-off capability - only returning to score a direct hit on the Furies after they vacated Ares' head. End of Furies. I'll miss them, they were so OTT, they made Deimos look normal. Anyway, it seems the chacky has an intelligence of its own. Xena must have pre-planned the whole drowning-under-the-ice scenario, since Gabs, when rescuing Eve, also knew to grab warm furs to take along. I also noticed with approval that Gabs capably carried out her part of the plan. Pity her new-found dependability evaporated after a couple more eps. This currently leaves only Aphrodite in power on Olympus (plus, maybe, a few minor godlets like Lachrymose who may not even have been entitled to inhabit Olympus). Since Xena had paved the way for 'the rule of the God of Love' I thought there might have been an interesting ambiguity there - but TPTB didn't make anything of it. Pity. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
