After Eternal Bonds which, aside from a few good moments with Ares in them, didn't have much in it. I don't hate Joxer but his romantic problems with Gabrielle didn't do anything for me. (I don't think they were unfair to either Joxer's or Gabs' characters, just not entertaining for me). Xena and Ares' romantic, umm, problems, however, I always found fascinating. > > But never mind all that, it was a highly entertaining episode. The Herc-Xena wild fling in 'Unchained Heart' was mostly interesting for the reaction from Iolaus when he came back and found the two metaphorically smoking cigarettes and trying to look as if nothing had happened. But Ares now, he was a much more complex character and, though he could get mean when frustrated, he really did have feelings for Xena (so much so that he gave up his godhood to save her in Motherhood). So he wasn't all bad :) > Of course, Kevin Smith is sorely missed, in more ways than one.....;( > > > But I was very disappointed in Xena for deceiving Ares from start to > > finish about her intentions, seeing as how Ares kept his side of the > > bargain (and Xena knew he would) in quite spectacular fashion - > > confronting Athena in front of her entire army - while Xena resorted to a > > trick (the fake baby) and a technicality to welsh on the deal. Well, I didn't mind that she tricked Ares in The Furies, for example, when he was trying to defeat her - in fact I felt that was very nicely done; but I felt it unfair to take advantage of his more worthy side (I don't mean his obsession with her, but rather his keeping his side of the deal). cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
