The series wasn't terrible and I learn a few things - like Greece had a flood myth and that Delphi has the stone that Chronis swallowed. It also recycled their footage of the Black Sea flood which some scholar's content is the origin of the flood myths from the near east. History Channel also has series about sex in the Ancient World centering on Pompeii. History Channel generally was shocked, shocked and thrilled by all the sexual images rampant in Pompeii. Nothing much was new in the documentary except surprisingly the History Channel didn't flinch in showing the erotic the painting. I came away with the impression Romans liked sex but weren't terribly imaginative. Friday will be sex in ancient Egypt once again expect the narrator to shocked, disgusted and titillated by pornographic images. Having said what I said I think the scholars are interesting now if only the narrator would stop acting like a 19th century church deacon looking at French post cards for the first time.
