HOWEVER... despite using Susan as a fighter for the sake of the story, it would appear that Lewis didn't really approve. As aficionados well know-- and as I've always resented-- at the end of the series she survives the train wreck in which the other children are killed but does not join Aslan in the Real Narnia (aka Heaven, if course).
