Subject: [chakram-refugees] new heroines

There seems to be a trend for fighting heroines  to
turn up in sequels of fantasy film series.  Eowyn 
(Miranda Otto) showed up in the second of  the
Lord of the Rings films.  The Variety  review noted
the "suddenly butt-kicking" Elizabeth Swann (Keira 
Knightley) in the final Pirates of the Caribbean  movie.
Now, even more unlikely, Queen Susan of Narnia,
nee Pevensie (Anna Popplewell) has graduated  
from "Susan the Gentle" in the first Chronicles of 
Narnia to a deadly archer in  Prince Caspian, who 
kills about as many people as Xena in an  average 
couple of episodes.
