From the way the article read it sounded like she was a permanent cast member. I was quite surprised how long it took before she actually showed up in a Xena Ep. If it had not been for that Danielle Cormack article though I might not have watched Xena at all. As a spin off of Herc I was not expecting much form the show, boy was I ever wrong. By EP two of Xena I was hooked. The dark side of Xena gave it the edge that Herc just did not have. I may have seen every Xena Ep but I don't think I have seen every Herc Ep. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Cult Spy: Sci-Fi Spin Offs - Hit Or Miss? Sunday, December 16 2007, 09:10 GMT By Ben Rawson-Jones, Cult Editor "Success breeds success." That's certainly been the strategy adopted by a manifest of TV execs over the years. Many Doctor Who and Star Trek spin-offs have bombarded our screens over the years, with mixed results. For every triumphant Next Generation there's a K-9 & Company cowering behind the box, tail between its spindly legs. 2008 promises to unleash Life On Mars' Gene Hunt's unique take on law enforcement in the 80s with Ashes To Ashes, along with Heroes: Origins once the writers' strike is out of the way. But how will they fare in the cut-throat TV marketplace? Here's a look at some of the notable successes and failures of the cult spin-off. XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS Spawned from Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, this appealing romp ran for six seasons from 1995 until 2001. Away from the impressive ratings and wacky action, Xena is often cited as paving the way for future series that revolved around female empowerment in a genre traditionally dominated by powerful males, such as Buffy and Alias. Set in ancient Greece, the sword-wielding Xena was wonderfully portrayed by Lucy Lawless, with her relations with pretty young companion Gabrielle no doubt sparking off plenty of lesbian fantasies amongst the adolescent males tuning in (and a few older ones too). In a similar vein to Angel, characters from Xena's parent show Hercules also cropped up regularly. Verdict: Hit KT ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. From Adrienne: Hey all, Whew...what a year. Ebay has given us SO MUCH trouble this year - culminating today when they deleted our entire auction and all the current bids with it!! They claim they were erring on the side of caution and deleting all charity auctions because of a few scammers out there. I admire their ideals...but we have a great cause that still needs help! Anyway, We hope to have a strong final push in the 2-5 days as we have many lovely things left. We HOPE to have everything back up within 24 hours. The descriptions will no longer say anything about benefiting a cause..but yes, all proceeds still go to help a family in need....we just can't put that in our listing. Three items I would like to highlight - because we have multiples.... (btw, any we have left over will also be available after the auction on the adriennewilkinson.com merchandise page). - -set of 4 character photo's (Adrienne in Xena, Charmed, Angel and Star Wars) - --photo packets: set of at least 15 headshots and publicity photos - --press packets Professional press kit for Adrienne Wilkinson that contains more than 30 pieces including interviews, photo's and more. We also have props from REFLECTIONS as well as items from CSI and Ugly Betty. We have some jewelry, house wares, scripts, photos, wardrobe and a few other items. I would say we have about 80 items left...and we'd love to find a home for all of it. All remaining items are on short 3 day auctions, so we can ship it all this week! Thank you for your help as we give the auction one last big push in hopes of finding a home for everything. - -Adrienne *PLEASE PASS THIS ON* Julie "XT" Ruffell www.CreativeRune.com - coming soon! www.bitchofrome.com "I don't do this to die.
