I sent Whoosh an article consisting of entries from my book dealing with prehistoric people in Xena. Whoosh has been stuck for some time with issue 103 in the header, but contents only up to issue 102. I'm going to briefly describe the Xena entries from my book here. If Whoosh remains dormant, I will eventually provide the whole article here. My book is aimed at general readers, who know little about XWP. Therefore I start my first entry on Xena with "Grim Greek warrior woman Xena and her cheerful, idealistic companion Gabrielle--" and go on to say -- "Xena: Warrior Princess and Renaissance Picture's parallel series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1994-2000) were far from flawless but became very popular internationally. Both series has charismatic, exciting lead actors, Joseph LoDuca's Emmy-nominated scores, beautiful New Zealand scenery, usually impressive production values, and scripts which reflected considerable knowledge of ancient history and lore (though filtered through highly anachronistic stories and attitudes)." My first Xena entry is about Lifeblood (episode 106) which was built around excerpts from the unused pilot Amazon High, the pilot for the proposed series about the earliest Amazons. I also have entries on the two Horde episodes, The Price and Daughter of Pomira; Fins, Femmes and Gems, because of Joxer's apeman persona; and The Abyss, on the assumption that the cannibals are primitive holdovers. Finally, I have an appendix on abortive projects, with some information on the proposed prehistoric episode Sticks and Stones. You can find out more about my book (with some excerpts from reviews) at the publisher's website at _www.mcfarlandpub.com_ (http://www.mcfarlandpub.com) . Search "klossner."
