She seems to have had a great deal of fun and made some good friends. I believe that it is possible that industry types will see that she is a hard worker, a gracious and charming person and most importantly that she is easy to work with and I think that will open more doors for her. The show had great production values so I don't think it was "cheezy." Secondly I don't believe you can condemn the people on the show , Lea Thomson, Cheech Marin, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson et. al as "washed up". Alfonso seems to be working hard as a director, Lea has a series, ad Chris Jericho is wrestling away in his own little sphere of the entertainment world so they are all working. If you say all the people Lucy worked with were washed-up then by implication someone can content that Lucy is a "has been" also which is clearly untrue. Lucy is essentially reinventing herself and that takes nerve and imagination. That goes for all the contestants - they took a chance, kept their dignity and apparently had a good time. They are all winners in my opinion. CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. [grin] of the little i saw, which was only the downloads of lucy, i was most impressed with her progression over time. she's not a great singer, but she's a most appealing and committed performer. the difference between her first duet with smokey and her solo was rather mind-boggling. even the change between [total eclipse] and [tell momma] was astonishing to me. like every one else, i applaud her willingness to have a great time and put everything she's got out there. pretty cool but scarcely surprising. best of all is her apparent ability to keep her kiwi sense about her. she does the glitz and the cheesecake and her teeth are frighteningly white but it's all show and she lets you know she knows it. in those great moments off stage, if not off camera, it's wonderful to see something of the hedzup real woman that we got to know during xena. thanks to maryd for the videos and to all of you who kept posting and thereby reminding me to download and watch them. FRACKIN' A, LUCY! ;) md ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
