I think they like to keep it a mystery how the votes are counted on all those kind of shows so they can get extra phone vote money even if it does not count We just got to see Lucy singing on the show here in a News program called Close up on TVNZ 1 showing clips from the show I was just watching it as I was typing - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Catch ya later NZJester - -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I have a land line and a cell and voted from both. I don't recall now many times I voted, but it was around 15 - 20 times on each phone. Then I had to go to bed because I have to work today. I had no trouble voting - the phone line was never busy when I called. I assume they count all calls and not screen out subsequent calls from the same numbers. So I hope we keep her on for the next show. By the way, I liked Lucy's performance much better than the judges did. I think they were comparing her performance last week with Smokey Robinson. Not fair. That was, well, "smokin'". No surprise that they paired her with Kenney Loggins, either. Somehow I just expected it. Finally, Sharon - we saw you on TV, when they showed Rob Tapert (whose last name they managed to misspell as 'Rob Talpert'. That seems to be a chronic problem with some.) Nice to see they had the celebrities' families and friends in the audience. bd ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. That's how some singers on American Idol beat out others who clearly gave a better performance. Celebrity Duets is following the same model. There are those viewers who, for whatever reason, choose a singer despite their talent. It isn't always true, but it does happen. At this point, this really more a popularity contest than a true competition. If it were, they would leave it all to the judges. (Although I suspect they are biased against Lucy, but then I am biased for her.) bd - -----Original Message----- From: XenaGuard@yahoogroups.com [mailto:XenaGuard@yahoogroups.com]On Behalf Of mjuiingong Sent: Friday, September 08, 2006 8:13 PM To: XenaGuard@yahoogroups.com; Xenaguard; Xena_Kit_9; Xena_Kit_8; Xena_Kit_10; Xena _Kit_11; Whoosh; Officiallucylawlessfanclub; Chakram-Refugees Subject: Re: [XenaGuard] Voting For Lucy Is voting more than once fair? I voted exactly once, I may have been the first person to vote. Putting aside my prejudice for Lucy Lawless, I can still state, in all honesty, that she was the best. That second song last night, she had me tapping away, keeping time, with my pen on pad. That woman is magnificent. They're on tonight I gather. Must see, and I do mean must.
