He was OK, but the role didn't do much for changing his "dumb hunk" stereotype (since that's exactly what he was supposed to play). ;( Most likely this was a rerun, but I hadn't seen it before. Miller" Subject: Re: [chakram-refugees] OT: V For Vendetta review Thanks for the review. I forgot this was coming out on DVD. I didn't see it in the theaters. I was reluctant because I really liked the comic mini-series this is based on. And so when Alan Moore had his name taken off the film, I was very wary. But my brother liked the comic as much as I did, and he saw the movie in the theater and loved it. So of course, by the time I decided to go, the movie disappeared. The Onion has a new interview with Moore in their A/V club site. http://www.avclub.com/content/node/51180 And I'm still not sure why he took his name off the V movie. Other than he hates Hollywood in general. (But then Hollywood FU his "League of Extraordinary Gentleman." The lead of his series becomes a supporting character and turned into a slinky vampire.) And he is a big eccentric. But maybe no connection with Moore was a good thing for the movie. He's not someone you could sell to the America Media, right now. If ever. He's Wicca, and he and his fiancie are finishing up their incredibly offensive pornography series the two have been working on (off and on) for 16 years. BTW, (And I keep forgetting to mention this here or on Flawless) do you know about the Lucy (and Xena) references in "Promethea," Alan Moore's and artist J.H. Williams' comic book? It ended last year after 32 issues. It was a fantasy about the history of magic. FBI agents Lucy Ball and Karen Bruegel first appear around 17 or 18. They appear in almost every issue after that. Lucy is a striking lithe woman with short black hair. Karen is a small blond. __________________________ - -- Using Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/mail/ Tired of spam?
