Young" Subject: [chakram-refugees] OT: Whale Rider Almost forgot to mention that last night I watched on PBS "Riding The Wave: The Making of Whale Rider" or some-such title. ;) It was a really interesting documentary about the background of the film, etc., and the NZ culture/film industry. AND, there was some very complimentary footage about the casting director, Diana Rowan, who, as you all know, did XWP and HTLJ. The director said something like, "Diana Rowan was the ONLY one who could cast the lead. She's the type, out of a room of about 20, she'd find the 5 ones who were really good." Rowan was interviewed, along with Keisha what's-her-name (?) (who played the young girl), talking about how the casting was done through seemingly random questions, but pertinent to the show.
