Ha ha ha! Yeah, I wondered at the hair stylist's choice too. I must have said, "Someone let her comb her hair" four or five times. ;) >Also the broom, which I feared was going to be used to fight bats, was wielded with great >efficiency by Lucy to fell an evil park ranger and no bats were harmed by said broom. Oh, she smacked a few before she escaped through the gate. ;) But, yeah, what's up with carrying it everywhere and not really using it? >I think CBS could make a movie where mean bat and the termite general from Alien Apocalypse would >join forces. It may look like theybre flying erratically, but really they easily catch insects while avoiding people. *Bats are blind as a bat. * Bats can see, but vision may be less important than other senses. They hunt at night when itbs hard to see, but many bats find insects to eat just by listening. *Bats all carry rabies. * The percentage of infected bats is tiny b far less than 1 percent. More raccoons, skunks and even domestic dogs and cats have rabies. (But a bite from a rabid bat can be fatal. So if you must handle a bat, protect yourself by wearing leather gloves. Keep children away.) *You get rid of bats by squashing or poisoning. * The best way to get rid of bats is not to kill them. If theybre in your house, wait for them to emerge, seal building holes and be grateful the bats will continue their bug-killing ways outside.
