I would like to share part of the show with my World Music class at Southwestern University, especifically, the opening credits. I understand that some of the ladies from "Le Mystires des Voix Bulgares" sing as part of the opening credits. We will be studying music from Bosnia (and adjacent regions) very soon and I thought that this visual/listening example may help my students to relate to the others included in our anthology." I did keep most of the eps from the 1st 2 seasons plus a few others, and wondered if there are any with more of the Bulgarian music in them than just those few bars in the opening credits. Perhaps 'Hooves & Harlots"? TEXena ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. "Sins of the Past" definitely has Bulgarian music all through it, especially in the beginning when Xena is riding through the mountains, and then through the fields outside Amphipolis and she comes upon the matrons harvesting the wheat ("Glede Ma Glede"). I also think there was quite a bit of music in "Destiny". Although I don't have it now, at one point I had the 3 disc Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares, and it was easy to pick out which parts were used in XWP. In fact, listening to the whole set was like envisioning whole Xena eps, and even making some up yourself. If you listen to "Kaval Sviri" it'll sound *very* familiar. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005J3P/104-6424622-9280701 S. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
