I didn't bother with tape; I kept channel surfing during the movie, coming back long enough to finally see Renee in a cave or something. Boy that's different. :) Then there was a love scene with her and Bruce... I think I urped a little. Lost me after that. Umm, Josh Becker fans, maybe? > > (I have got the right movie, haven't I?) > > cr Guys, guys, guys, guys guys. Bruce Campbell is HUGE among fans of cheesy sci-fi/fantasy films. I remember Kevin Smith talking at one con about how cool it was for him to be able to work with such a cult figure as Bruce. He spoke with a "true believer" tone in his voice about how he and his mates in college used to endlessly rewatch The Evil Dead movies while drinking massive amounts of beer. Kevin said something along the lines of what a rush it was to realize he'd be working with the guy who played Ash, that it was just an amazingly awesome thrill for him. I think it's likely it was mainly those bazillion Bruce fans who drove this movie up to the ratings heights. Type in "Review Alien Apocalypse" and just about every review mentions how they tuned in mainly to watch Bruce. And were mainly disappointed. Becker is never mentioned at all. Renee is barely mentioned. Even her character is barely mentioned. Though there was one fun reader comment following a "Damn, this movie really SUCKS!" review that said: "Sci-Fi channel aired this a while ago. It's pretty terrible. Xena's siekick is in it though. She's cute." Posted by Steve in June 2005. Google "Josh Becker" and you get 32,100 links. Google "Renee O'Connor" and you get 116,000 links. (Google "Renee O'Conner" (sic) and you get 501 extra dyslectics links.) Google "Bruce Campbell" and you get 2,500,000 links. I'd say Bruce's fans deserve the lion's (okay, the termites') share of the glory for this accomplishment. KT (wondering what the ratings would be on a second run. . .) ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
