I have all the BitchofRome transcripts stashed on mine! The answer is 4/8, 4/12 and 5/15 - that is, And Fancy Free, Men in Pink, and Greece is Burning. IMO, the first two of those (which had Auto in them, Sal in the first one, and Cupcake in both) were way better than the third. Widow Twanky was, of course, played by 'Edith Sidebottom'. > -Death of Iolaus/possessed by Dahak/alternate Iolaus Season 5 - Herc's 'dark' season (coincided with Xena Season 4). Herc's best season, IMO. The first two eps - Faith and Descent, then Darkness Rising, Let There be Light, and Redemption. (They also had Nebula in them - woof woof :) They were, IMO, some of the best Herc episodes (which is one reason I'm answering on-list - if anyone is thinking of dipping into Herc, I recommend those eps. The 'alternate' Iolaus was seen the other side of the Vortex in Stranger in a Strange World, he came over to 'this' side in Stranger & Stranger (after the 'regular' Iolaus had been posessed by Dahak in Faith and died with Dahak in Redemption). Iolaus II was in several mediocre eps, and a couple of reasonably good ones Love on the Rocks and My Best Girl's Wedding, where he married Nautica and became a mermaid. (Hey folks, it views better than it sounds :) And in the immediately next ep, Revelations (which was the first appearance of Archangel Michael, just before Fallen Angel) - the original dead-in-heaven Iolaus was returned to earth. > -Wasn't there some ep where Michael and Bruce are wearing really silly > outfits, like big teeth and messed up feet or something? Well - and this is kinda On Topic for this list, 'cos it's a crossover - Armageddon Now, in which Iolaus was sent back in time by Ares (oh, the irony) to defeat Callisto and prevent her killing Herc's mother before Herc was born. That may be Iolaus's best moment. And, I guess, some of the Dahak eps mentioned above. And also, Web of Desire, Nebula's very first appearance and the start of the Nebula/Iolaus romance - Nebula was winding him up something classic. You should definitely ask him about his romance with Nebula. But also, special mention, way back in Season 2 and 3, King for a Day and Long Live the King. Iolaus turns out to be the double of the crown prince Orestes, who is drugged the night before his coronation/wedding, so Iolaus has to impersonate him to save the kingdom... and he and the princess Niobe fall in love - which, of course, they cannot allow to happen. So Iolaus leaves to rejoin Herc. In Long Live the King, Orestes is assassinated, and Iolaus has to impersonate him to uncover a plot and stop a war; and Queen Niobe wants Iolaus to just continue as 'king'. Although he's in love with her, Iolaus refuses because it just wouldn't be right. Very sad, really. Them's my recommendations. And of course, as a topic, you could ask about Iolaus's bad luck with women.... always after the chicks, and never successful with any of them :) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Instead of just "moments" the list has the names of films and TV series, and only sometimes mentions specific "moments." Xena (the whole series) was #22-- 22. Xena The Warrior Princess (1997) The strange tale of Xena the princess and her sidekick Gabrielle, roaming a mythical countryside and battling everything from barbarians to centaurs, became an international mega-hit, airing in around 115 countries and spawning all manner of merchandise and fan activity. The show has glaringly obvious lesbian overtones - Xena and Gabrielle do everything together (and even 'kissed' in one episode) - and, unsurprisingly, the programme has a huge gay following, particularly among lesbians who can't get enough of their leather-clad heroines. However, all is not well with this list. Baywatch was #17. Boeotian ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. It was an ep where a wife had been killed while in an experimental sex therapy exercise. He didn't have many lines, but he had a certain amount of screen time, mostly running away from the cops, etc. ;) Just FYI, - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * JACKIE YOUNG, JYOUNG@LAVA.NET * * * * * ****************************************************** ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I now notice that the screenwriter for Red Eye, Carl Ellsworth, wrote the Xena ep Looking Death in the Eye, and also wrote for Cleopatra 2525. He also wrote one Bufffy ep, Halloween, which I believe is the Buffy story with the reference to Xena. His character was "Garage Joe," lol, a maker of bondage toys..."Experimental sex therapy exercise"? It was more of a fetish stunt gone wrong. -Sarah, aka the abbagirl- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
