Me too (need I say? :) It must be my sense of humour - I like dark ;) But I get more of a laugh out of, say, "I decided to appeal to his sense of family values" than anything in the comedies. Trouble with LL as Xena in the comedies, is that she was usually putting up with something that (IMO) a Warrior Princess didn't ought to tolerate - and which, in the dramas, she wouldn't tolerate. So, I guess I'm quite happy when (for example) in Warrior Priestess Tramp, Meg abuses Xena thinking she's Leah, and goes to punch her, and Xena just grabs Meg's hand in a vicelike grip - 'Oh, hullo Xena'. Or earlier when Leah is pratting on about the virtues of being virgins and Xena and Gabs exchange sceptical looks. That I don't mind. And I don't mind when LL as Meg or Leah does silly things. But when Xena does something silly, or undignified, then it takes away from her credibility as the Warrior Princess. How could the near-superhuman Xena, Destroyer of Nations, allow herself to be made a fool of or to act the fool? (At least in a trivial situation such as occurs in the comedies, I'm not talking about being deceived by Caesar, for example). I love ironical situations - as when in The Debt, Ming Tzu rants on about 'that fool Xena' quite unknowing that Xena is serving him at table - and Xena's expression is perfect. Or even a line like "So it is huge and potentially devastating. Oh goody." So, notwithstanding Lucy's own preferences, I think she's wrong She's far better at the black humour, even if she doesn't enjoy it as much. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
