Although she likes doing comedy, I never really liked it when she did it and I didn't think it was her strong suit (ala Meg)." that may be true as in some instances i felt the humor was pushed but there was some stuff she did very well as tongue in cheek. lyre lyre and punchlines were two of my favorites. people can get weary playing serious stuff all the time. perhaps she needs a break from the intensity of seriousness, especially the last couple years of the show, which she had to play ultra serious. i could use a little lite-hearted no-nonesense kick butt, not just serious kick butt..... : ) Lilli ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I liked her in all the comedies where she played Xena, especially when she was reacting gruffly or nonchallantly to someone else -- e.g., when Joxer was pretending to be Gabs in Soul Possession, or she stepped on that prone bad guy in In Sickness like he wasn't even there. I rather liked her as Priestess Leah, but Meg didn't do much for me except when she wasn't being funny (as in portions of Key to the Kingdom). I too loved the versatility she displayed, though I felt the dark humor and sarcasm (often with Ares, Caesar and Callisto) required more from her than the more slapstick variety. What I like about the Maddye roles (aside from her being the main character and regardless of the artistic merit) is the potential for more range than her cameo appearances. As with XWP, she'll have to play ridiculous scenes seriously but may get to inject humor into the "serious" scenes. She can pull that off as well as anybody I've seen, which is perhaps why she's so perfect for sci-fi/fantasy. I'm looking forward to seeing a different dimension in Battlestar. It'll be the first time since X-Files that she's with an ensemble cast that's not in a comedy. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
