I had the feeling Amarice was very much like Gabrielle in some ways. She probably didn't fit in very well where she came from and wanted a sense of belonging and family. So she attached herself to the Amazons and she later she joined up with Xena and Gabrielle for the same reason. Amarice was brave, loyal, and a skilled fighter. She had faults -she was a touch arrogant and made snap judgments about people but I think had a lot to with youth and inexperience. I liked Amarice and although I wouldn't have wanted her to become X & G's constant companion. she would have made a great recurring character. I got the impression she went straight to Ephiny's tribe. I doubt she had a tribe prior to that, as she kept saying, "In my tribe..." She was lying SO much in order to pretend she had come from somewhere. I also believe that Ephiny knew Amarice wasn't an Amazon, but was up for giving her a chance and would accept her into the tribe if she proved herself. I got this impression because Ephiny kept Amarice with her during the battle and didn't let her go off on her own. BATTLE ON XENA!
