She was unreliable, disrespectful and cocky. Now there Ihave to disagree with you in a big way. She was disrespectful and cocky, sure, but very reliable and very capable. After her one transgression in Endgame where she tried to kill Brutus - which was motivated, after all, by loyalty to Ephiny - she did everything that was asked of her. You watch her fighting alongside Xena in the fort in Ides - very competent, one couldn't ask for a better companion in a fight. > Ephiny > presumably saw Ephiny as redeemable, but she didn't know that > Amarice was also a liar. I wasn't aware that it was Gabrielle's prerogative to consider Ephiny an Amazon or not. Ephiny was already an Amazon long before Gabrielle ever saw an Amazon. > Boeotian I find it interesting you confuse Ephiny and Amarice cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Also at the end of Them Bones, Gabrielle > made her an official Amazon so Amarice was an Amazon afterall. Yes - in fact I think that thing about Amarice not being a genuine Amazon was just a plot device so Gabrielle could do that. That really was 'out of the blue' - there was never any reason before that to doubt Amarice. I would much rather the writers had found some other way to let Gabs demonstrate her moral enlightenment. > On of the disappointing things about Amarice's character is that we didn't > learn more about her. Yes, I would have loved to see more of her. Too bad Jennifer had to leave (though one can't blame her, the title role in a series beats a recurring character role hands down). I liked Amarice's irreverent sarcasm - and her gung-ho willingness to take on anything head-on. In some characters I might have found that irritating, in Amarice's case it amused me, maybe because Amarice was very capable at what she did. If you watch the fight in the Roman fort in Ides, Amarice is doing darn near as well as Xena in terms of Romans flattened. And Amarice, Joxer and Eli (have to give Eli credit where it's due) showed great courage and initiative in rescuing Xena and Gabs from the crosses in FA. > I thought I once heard a rumor that she was going to > turn out to be Callisto's kid sister. Wish we'd got to see more of her. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I live in a small town and our cable isn't very good - lousy reception and expensive for what you get. Most people now have small dishes and I do also and I have to say it's better than cable and there are a whole range of prices and the SciFi Channel is included in every package. You should compare DirectTV and DISH as to what you get - Oxygen is on DirectTV but not DISH, but DISH can be cheaper.
