Bats that fly into human living quarters are usually lost youngsters whose primary goal is a safe escape. They often will leave on their own if a window or door to the outside is opened while others leading to the rest of the house are closed. Bats are not aggressive, even if chased, but may bite if grabbed. As with any wild animal, bats should not be handled with bare hands. An exit can be hastened by catching the bat in flight with a hand net (swung from behind), or when the bat lands, covering it with a coffee can and slipping a piece of cardboard over the opening, and then simply releasing it outside. Or you may also catch it by hand, using leather work gloves to avoid being bitten. * and here is another website with info about bats. from the u of florida. http://hendry.ifas.ufl.edu/HCHortNews_Bats.htm enjoy. lilli ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. They eat mosquitos? I never knew that - thanks for telling me! I've always liked bats - now I positively _love_ them! (Just as much as I hate mosquitos!) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. THANK YOU "DOUBLE DARE"! FINALLY we have a NAME for Renee O'Connor's stunt double - Min Windle. Now, if I could just get some DETAILS. Anyone know when Geri (what was her full name again?) stopped being Lucy's double and Zoe started? And has Min ALWAYS been Renee's double? I want to include the amazing doubles in the credits for the new site. BATTLE ON XENA! Cleopatra offers lots of skin, screams, shrieks, shooting by Eric E. Harrison. The chief appeal for this short-lived series, which aired on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2000-01, is plenty of female skin. Oh, and lots of shoot-'em-ups and explosions. This new set includes all 28 half-hour episodes on two double-sided discs, spilling over onto a third disc that also has the bonus materail. (I had trouble accessing Disc 3 until I figured out that the label had been imprinted on the wrong side.) Cleo (Jennifer Sky) is an "exotic dancer" from 2001 awakened from a five-century cryogenic sleep by two skimpily clad futuristic freedom fighters (Gina Torres and Victoria Platt), who with the help of a disembodied Voice are trying to win back the surface of the Earth from killer monster robots called Baileys. The show's creators have liberally borrowed elements of Charlie's Angels, The Terminator, Futurama, Xena: Warrior Princess and The Matrix for a script that trades heavily on references to 20th century science fiction shows and movies. Too much of the rest of Cleo's dialogue involved screams, shrieks and squeals, but luckily most of the show is taken up with our acrobatic heroines (among the bonus material is a short how-to featurette on the stunts) blasting Baileys, cyborgs and mutants. Additional bonus material includes deleted scenes (unlike too many other such devices, most of these actually expand one's understanding of the episodes from which they were cut), a blooper reel (with language unsuitable for children) and a cross-promotional episode of Earth 2, which Universal is also releasing on DVD this week. C+. /// The C+ is the reviewer's rating. The rest of the column notes other new videos, including the complete Earth 2 series, "plus bonus episodes of Cleopatra 2525"; the third season of Sliders, with episodes of Cleopatra 2525 and Eaerth 2; and Xena: Warrior Princess: 10th Anniversary Collection. So the distributor has put episodes of Cleo on both Earth 2 and Sliders DVD, in an attempt to drum up interest in the show. Yes I can't take another actress forced to say "in the name of Eli I cast thee out" I'm sure there are now union rules about that now. > Oooo, unless it's the locust god, which tries to get her to do evil. Actually the unnamed little girl could channel those big termites from Alien Apocalypse -oh wait- then Renee's character can come back from the future and help Maddy fight the giant termites. And they can do it in Louisiana and Renee won't have to go to Bosnia or Herzegovina to act with people in bad wigs. > CherylA ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
