["Mark B." ] [chakram-refugees] 4 years and STILL be referenced ["Xena Torres" Subject: [chakram-refugees] Xena and Netflix I just joined Netflix. It's a DVD rental club where for so much a month you can rent DVDs. I took the $9.99 a month plan which means I get my DVDs one at a time but I can get as many DVDs in a month as I can watch. They send them to you and you get a postage paid envelope to send them back. Anyway they have all the Xena sets. So if anyone couldn't buy the sets you could rent them one disc at a time for $9.99 (there are also a two DVD and a three DVD plan). If you are a dedicated watcher I'm sure you could get through at least one season per month. I agree that the Fates felt they owed her a reward for saving their temple and it was Xena's off-the-cuff comment that she wished she'd never picked up the sword that led them to giving her that second chance. >The Fates gave Xena the chance to see Lyceus as the self-determined hero he >was, rather than an accidental victim of her own choices. Could hers be a type of 'survivor's guilt' that Lyceus died rather than herself? I also liked when she first saw Gabrielle. Xena always berates herself for all the things she did *to* people, she tends to forget all the good she has done. By not having gone through all the things she did as evil Xena and then changing and fighting for good, she would not have been in a position to save Gabrielle and Potedia from Draco's men rounding up slaves or saved both the Amazons and Centaurs from battling among them selves and permitting the Amazons to be later captured as slaves by Krykus. I also liked ROC's portrayal as an embittered Gabrielle and the the shock on Xena's face when she saw that. Xena's been off the air four years and it's STILL being referenced! I was watched "Cursed" last night (which was all a lie! It advertised as a dark and cool looking film, but it's, sadly, way over the top comical, so I do NOT recommend it. *sigh* I expected so much better from Wes, Kevin and Christina) Anyway... There's a scene with figures dressed as pop culture characters, and, yep, Xena and Hercules were among them. Now, was this because it was in the script or because the effects team is the same gang that did Herc and Xena (and Blade 3 recently). Xena will live forever! BATTLE ON XENA! So, I have been fast forwarding my on line TV guide each week in hopes of seeing it return to the schedule. Well I finally wrote to Oxygen and asked the pointed question, "When will XWP return to the schedule?" I also asked them to consider running it at night M-F rather than 3 times a day when most of us who work can never see it. I was surprised to receive a response in 24 hours and even more surprised with the wording which to paraphrase.... there are no plans at this time and do not know if it will be coming back but thanks for your interest... Anyone know what the contract deal is?? CJ ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
