Don't forget she's mostly been in musicals where "big" gestures and comedy were part of the show. I suspect Lucy would be very careful about her "in character" nonverbals in a drama. Her fans might focus on her anyway, even if she sat motionless, and she does seem to have a certain "presence" that's hard to ignore. I'm sure she'd work to fit into the other cast so as not to stand out inappropriately. Admittedly, I'd have to work hard to focus on the other actors, but that might be true of audience members who focus on another actor for some reason -- familiarity, "star" power, the role itself, talent -- who knows? Just like each of us walks away with something different from a TV show, I've had the same thing happen with plays. Heh, and we can't re-run what we just saw or expect to see an exact repeat if we see the play again. I'd love to see Lucy as part of an ensemble in a serious role, to see how/if she performs differently than on film or the stage roles she's had so far. - -- Ife "You are what you do.
