She had a few of those "only Lucy would go there" moments that made me cringe on one hand, but seemed so utterly "human" on the other. Usually they're "uncharacteristic" of the character in some way that shows the surface image covers some soft spots. Flopping back on the bed after finding out she was pregnant, whereas someone else might've played it more stoically or angsty. When she's trying to convince the general that they're on the same side, but with more of a "please, please, please" girlishness than, "Look, I'm the expert here. It's beneath me to beg." And I loved how she delivered, "What're you gonna do? Shoot `em?" That's one time she could've gone over the top, but didn't. Also, did anybody besides me wonder what all the other actors were thinking when Lucy strides over to do her first presentation at the Homeland Security meeting? I mean, here's this gorgeous woman (appearing much taller than her recently discovered 5'9") standing there like a weather girl, except explaining how bugs may mean the end of the world. I give her and the others much credit for not not showing any signs of mirth. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Who knows--perhaps if she takes that next job, she'll be jumping out of airplanes into the infested American heartland with the baby in a Xena invented snugli. The subsequent stories of the 'Embrace/Freedom Series' and the sequel, 'The Conqueror's Campaign' provide a landscape for what I strived to be a unique and profound exploration of the Xena/Gabrielle relationship dynamic in an alternate, somewhat epic, setting. Enjoy the read!" Two new stories by IseQween: In IseQween's story "PROUD WARRIORESS... THOSE LEGS!," a master at merchandising frauds, Salmoneus discovers benefits of the real thing from his encounters with a warlord who isnt quite the "knock-off" she seems. http://cousinliz.com/fanfic/iseqween_pwtl.html In IseQween's story "SPOILED," the spirit Tataka gets more than she bargained for when she takes possession of Gabrielle in the fourth season episode DEVI. http://cousinliz.com/fanfic/iseqween_s2.html - -- Cousin Liz eas01@fast.net Soulmates Xena Dinosaur Bards http://cousinliz.com ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
