In this horriblely cruel and torturing 'on the fence, off the fence' Fox is now airing the FINAL, SIX, UNAIRED episodes of "Tru Calling"'s never to be second season. Six. That's all we get. :( And, who knows, this might lead to an even more painful series finale with bigger loose ends (the season one finale was a hell of a finale and left a great big amount to be explored for a second season, but also tied up season one and thus the series quite nicely). So, watch if you dare (I dare, I dare) starting THIS Thursday with two back to back episodes (8pm-10pm on FOX) for the finale episodes of "Tru Calling" but don't even think about holding your breath for any more. Yeah, there was that, but I fear that if anything this appearance set her career back quite a ways. People expect Bruce Campbell to be in bad movies - -- he's made an entire career out it. But if ROC wants to be taken seriously as more than just "Xena's sidekick", she needs to get a role in a production that at least has *some* artistic merit. (No wonder LL turned the role down. She should've warned ROC away from it, as well.) =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. You know, one thing I wish Lucy would receive as a birthday present? That Katherine Fugate would delete that hate-filled message on her site from a Katherine Fugate fan who is "disgusted" with Lucy's commentary on "When Fates Collide". Katherine's fan accuses Lucy of lying about not remembering the episode at all. She states that Lucy also lies during interviews and and says whatever is expedient depending upon who's interviewing her. She accuses Lucy and Rob of "flip-flopping" over the subtext and derides those who might write that off by as "That's showbiz" because to her that's just "Yuck". She despairs that a movie showing a loving relationship between the two characters would ever be made by "these people", that Lawless and Tapert would not film such a movie. (Which actually made me shake my head in disbelief--seeing that Tapert and Lawless created this character and her story and the enduring and endying love between Xena and Gabrielle is, as Rob and Lucy have always declared, the "heart" of the show they gave us. The poster further declares that she feels that Lucy and Rob are lacking in integrity. All because they expressed less that absolute delight with every second of "When Fates Collide" on the DVD commentary. The one positive note she makes on the DVD commentary gives Renee credit for having genuine opinions that don't change due to the target audience. Apparently, her message started a firestorm on some lists. Because there is a follow-up message where the poster admits that on re-reading the post the next day, she "kinda cringed" at the harshness of her words. And admits that she had "impugned someone's core of honesty based on a few comments" Katherine in her reply says that she's sorry that the poster is "experiencing negativity" and admonishes those fans who are taking her to task over it with, "Let's all treat one another with respect." I believe that should extend to the people who worked on this show also. Artistic criticism is fine. Personal attacks slashing at people's characters, integrity and honesty because they don't heap expected praise on an ep you love is just plain contemptible. Katherine has declared she would delete mean-spirited, ugly comments left on her web site. I think it would be a kind and respectful gesture to take this one off line and toss it into the garbage can. As I said, removing this acidic diatribe against Lucy and Rob would make a sweet little birthday present for Lucy and/or anniversary present for both Lucy and Rob. They assumed the bugs were invincible and were too scared to rebel. They'd lost their courage and common sense until Brucie showed them a mere arrow would do the trick. The moral? The real enemy is within. Or "There is nothing to fear but fear itself." Or, "You won't know unless you try." Or "With the most advanced technology in the world, sometimes the answer lies in simplicity." Remember, I probably actually listened to a total of minutes of dialogue, so I could be wrong. > Also I know Campbell's character is suppose to be cool but I think he > could > have been just a trifle more upset that his lady love was captured by the > bugs.
