I didn't like Meg and I didn't like her in Less Than Perfect and now 2 1/2 Men. Seems the same character over and over. And her focus was all over the place. Not "authentic", IMO. And then what's with her accent?? Neither NZ nor 'merican. Just make up her mind, already. I miss Xena. Kinda busy nowadays, so this is just a "quickie" IMO. ;) - --Jackie ****************************************************** * Proud to have the same birthday as Lucy Lawless! * * * * JACKIE YOUNG, JYOUNG@LAVA.NET * * * * * ****************************************************** ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. In general I have always liked 2 1/2 Men and some of the writing and acting has been good. This was one of their better efforts. The scene between Charlie and Alan at the party, talking with the ad man Charlie was trying to impress, was one of the funniest bits they have done. The other nice thing is that this show tends to be very generous to its guest stars and Lucy had a lot to do in this - much more so than in Less Than Perfect. I can see why she blew them away in the audition. She was great. As for the report about money, CBS has been getting pinch-penny lately. After all, if they would fire a couple of their B or C characters on their top-rated show (CSI), then I can see why there was a salary issue. On the other hand, it was smart of Lucy to go back and audition because this gives her more coverage. I think it was a good opportunity for her. bd - -----Original Message----- From: owner-chakram-refugees@smoe.org [mailto:owner-chakram-refugees@smoe.org]On Behalf Of Cheryl Ande Sent: Monday, March 07, 2005 10:16 PM To: chakram-refugees@smoe.org Subject: [chakram-refugees] Two and Half Men Just saw Lucy on Two and Half Men and I enjoyed the show. I see she was using what I call her Princess Di accent. Lucy seems to love playing those ditsy types and she is good at it. I thought of a TV series for her - she plays the ditsy character and ROC can be sensible friend who gets her out of trouble all the time - a twist on the dumb blond theme - brunette dumb, blond smart. I read the TV guide interview. I think Lucy was joking about the Halle Berry part but I guess money was an issue. That may explain why when the promos were being run Lucy's name appeared in print but not mentioned. Maybe that was the agreement if she was paid her usual salary - can't use my name to promote if you don't pay me.
