Cool. So with a bit of careful taping with my DVD and a VCR, I can make myself a copy of the Directors Cut but with the original (good) ending :) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I suppose it might have some appeal to people who haven't bought the individual seasons, but they'd need something, as you say, special to tempt me - like, say, Sin Trade (both parts) with a director's commentary by T J Scott. And maybe a commentary on Amphipolis Under Siege and Looking death in the Eye (one of the bizarre features of the S5 DVDs - both those eps, which are generally consdered two of the better eps in S5, didn't even rate interviews. But Eternal Bonds and Fishpaste did. Howcome? Not that either of those eps is really likely to make a 'Best of', anyway. Most of the eps likely to make a 'Best of' selection have already had commentaries or at least interviews on the DVD season sets, anyway. cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. Be part of the Best Of XENA DVD Set (fwd) Hear hear! Yes, new commentaries WOULD make me buy this set, but Sin Trade ain't in the running. :P So far, "When Fates Collide" (gag me) is first, "The Bitter Suite" is close on its heels in second and I think it was "A Day in the Life" and then "One Against an Army." I WOULD buy the set for new commentary on the last three. I will NOT buy the set JUST for fan renactments. That will be fun to watch and silly, BUT, I'm not paying, what, $60 for it? Um...NO. ;) BATTLE ON XENA! So with a bit of careful taping with my DVD and a VCR, I can make >myself a copy of the Directors Cut but with the original (good) ending :) Oh, I gotta agree. I LOVE the "Director's Cut" far better than the aired version, but I much preferred Gab alone on the boat. Cause, um, Xena's like, um, dead and if she's dead, then, um, she like shouldn't be hanging out with you. What's the point if you can talk to her AND touch her? Is she dead? Who cares! All the perks of life and no fear of dying - you're dead! With the original ending I got the impression that Xena wasn't ever AT Gab's side - but rather, was Gab imaging Xena at her side, cause she carries Xena always in her heart. I thought that was very sweet and said a lot about their relationship. But to have Xena THERE without the cut to Gab alone (a la the Director's cut), then it's like Xena REALLY IS there. Huh? ;) BATTLE ON XENA! Well, I highly doubt they would get away with charging $60 for it, considering it will probably be, like, 1-3 discs at most, and the regular season sets are like 9 discs or something for that price. :) - -Sarah- ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. It looks like When Fates and A Day In the Life are shoe ins as is One Against An Army and The Bitter Suite. I am however shocked to see that The Price only has 2 votes. Which is a shame since I believe it is the best stand alone episode of the series. So if you are so inclined thee over to http://bestofxena.com/ and vote and remember what one Chicago pol once said "vote early and often". I watched The Grudge last nigh. Very good movie but it may be a possible mistake to watch it alone when you own a black cat. Anyway Ted Raimi has nice part in the film and both he and Rob Tapert are interviewed in the bonus section.
