Not to mention, what a cool choice for Xena's guardian angel. ;) Hmmm, you may both be right. Somebody up there may have wanted to bring the girls back, but I got the impression it was Cally who got the ball rolling. It may have been her grief and perhaps wish that she could do something that brought her the power to interfere. If she hadn't in some way shown a willingness to be Xena's angel, it's possible there wouldn't have been an "agent" to carry out the idea. Actually, I assumed Cally communicated the idea and received permission, rather than the other way around, though I don't remember any explicit suggestion of that. I guess I just preferred that she initiated the act -- kind of a fitting payback for Xena's sacrifice for her. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I liked the guest actors too. Despite the problems (e.g., staff changes, some viewers' dislike of storylines), I thought the change of pace wasn't that bad. It's just that Lucy is such an important ingredient for me that she can singlehandedly affect my reaction to an ep. I was used to her minimal prescence in Lucylite eps, but I found it a little disconcerting to feel that way when she was on screen. And I have to add that it was worth it to me to see that Lucy could keep working and that TPTB found a way to incorporate the pregnancy. I loved that "real life" wasn't trumped by fantasy. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. I was fixated on the heavenly part -- benevolent diety, forgiveness, sacrifice, justice (in terms of Xena's dying because Cally cheated), yadda yadda. But you're right, the practical issues may have necessitated the urgency to -- as you put it -- "get Xena the hell out of" hell. Makes sense. I'm cracking up at the thought that Xena got re-birthed more because of her devil side in hell, than because of the good she could do on earth. That girl did have a way of using her dark side to its best advantage. - -- Ife ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
