Well, I just found the implication that Xena might be more infallible if she was a 'robot', absurd. Robots (at least in fiction) are predictable and therefore can be outmanouvred. Xena *Warrior* Princess had a huge stock of experience, plus the ability to outhink most enemies. I repeat, turning her back on an enemy in a fight is an elementary mistake she would *not* make, and I see absolutely no implication of 'robotic' behaviour in that statement. But, even if she did, she's been beaten up by far more formidable opponents than Najara and come back fighting - I just don't believe that Najara, even if she got the jump on Xena, would have the strength to capitalise on it. > > >I didn't see anything particularly freakish in Najara's first attack. > > > She felt she was a better person/fighter (especially for Gabrielle). > > > She had a different opinion about how to deal with bad guys than Xena. > > > She told her men to stay out of the fray. Well, 'changes her mind' is a euphemism for 'finding out that Najara is a fanatical wacko who was quite likely to kill Gabs as soon as Gabs found out about her murderous little habits and tried to walk out on her', I think. :) (snip) cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. So in terms of credit, notwithstanding the gorgeous special effects (which Steve Sears said he never expected to see on a TV screen), I think Lucy deserves as much credit for that fight as for any other in the series. Not just for the acting, but for her physical performance in it. The special FX were just the icing on the cake. IMO. (Of course I'm prejudiced, I already said it was my favourite fight cr ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
