Can't say as it looks like a particularly good piece of cinema, but what the hell, LL's in it so I'll probably go see it anyway. :) Anybody know if LL will be doing any talk shows etc. to promote the movie next month? =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. One of the most glaring fumbles I've seen in my short life is a book I read about warrior women about 10 years ago, where the author had apparently just made things up. I think my eyes were big as saucers and my jaw was on the floor after about the second chapter. > in one episode she tells a doctor she cannot be "up the >duff" as she so charmingly puts it because she is a "love-free zone." Okay, someone refresh my memory - when did she say this? I think I need to turn in my HCNB card. :[ Will someone please open the University of Xena so we can enroll and keep on top of Xenalogy? > Series One is, by popular consent, the best of Xena, though its DVD >reissue is poor quality, and you may prefer to buy it on VHS. Nooo! Season Three!! Season Two rocked the house. Season Six was fantastic. But Season 1? Formulaic, monster-of-the-week, up until the last few episodes. The introduction of Callisto was what, IMO, provided the first steps for XWP to become greater than it had been. It was a gateway that opened up an entire world of intriguing storytelling constantly looking to best itself, on a level that TV hadn't seen before. By the time the cinematic wonder of "Friend" had aired, XWP had become a.ma.zing. And... I don't know of anyone at this point who would pay $150+ for bulky, heavy, low-quality video tapes. As for me... still too anxious about buying *any* of the seasons on DVD. Every time I go to Best Buy, there she is, looking at me forlorn from the boxed sets shelf. "Take me home, Stephanie..." I suppose I'll crumble sometime pretty soon. S. ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list. IIRC this was in _Little Problems_, the episode when Xena finds out she is pregnant. :) The above quote is her reaction upon getting the news. :) One of the funnier scenes in season 5, I must say. Yeah. That one. :} (This is why Lynn continues to run away with the trivia contests at Xena Night, while I haven't won anything in a geologic age...) =============================================== Meredith Tarr New Haven, CT USA mailto:meth@smoe.org http://www.smoe.org/meth =============================================== hear at the HOMe House Concert Series http://hom.smoe.org =============================================== ========================================================= This has been a message to the chakram-refugees list.
