Actually the disclaimer said inspired by Homer's epic.  So we can give them
a bit of a pass.  After all even the myths vary.  In one myth Helen never
was in Troy - Aphrodite had her spirited away in Egypt and everyone was
fighting over a phantom.  The war was just a huge joke by the gods.

Subject: [chakram-refugees] Interesting Xena Fan

I visited my mom in the hospital today.  She is in the geriatric wing since
she is 86.  She has a new roommate who is probably also in her 80's Helen
Yonko.  When I said I was going to the Xena convention she got very excited
and said she was a big fan and asked a lot of questions about what Lucy was
doing now.  Xena fans are everywhere and are of all ages.

Subject: [chakram-refugees] Xena Mention on NCIS

I haven't seen this posted yet, but on NCIS (Naval Crime Investigation
Service) tonight, Kate and Abby had a rapidfire discussion about female
superheroes, some of which included Wonder Woman.  Then Kate said that for
her the one who tops them all was Xena.  I think it was Abby who ruined it
by saying 'yes, but no self-respecting female superhero wore open-toed
shoes'.  So I suppose they took the worst image of Xena's costume (skimpy)
and assumed her footwear was something other than boots - and closed-toed at
that.
