She does >not have the depth to make me care about the >character. ACK! I COMPLETELY DISAGREE. Jennifer is an AMAZING talent. It DOES depend on the episode. There are episodes that do not play an emotional high (same can be said of all shows), but, gods, watch ONE scene with Jennifer and Lena Olin, and there is NO chance ANYONE could play those roles besides those two ladies. If Garner was recast the show would flop. I sure as hell wouldn't be watching anymore. >It is a very one dimensional plane, whereas Lucy delivered so many sides of >Xena's character and >that is what evoked the emotional connection in all >of us. Sydney is an equally rounded character, but she's different, of course. You can't compare characters who are nothing alike. It's hard to meet the FULL richness of Xena, cause there's so few characters out there who explore bad guy gone good (though Alias DOES have two such characters, although you can NEVER quite figure out if they've really gone good, or just playing everyone to double cross at a later time...) Of COURSE there is NO replacement for Xena. It's not possible. I don't join mailing lists for other shows or search websites and my site is all about Xena. Xena was the show that changed me and my life. Whatever comes next, Xena will always be first in my heart (UNLESS I get to make MY show in which case, sorry, "Tags" will have to edge out Xena SLIGHTLY). But if we wait around for a show to be BETTER than Xena, you might as well stop watching TV. BATTLE ON XENA! 'You understand violence and pain but you do not know The Way'" Uhm sounds a bit familiar. SPOILER BELOW FOR TROY Also just watch Troy tonight. I enjoyed it and would recommend it but watch for the end. Brad Pitt's end is a very FIN ending (although it took a lot more arrows to kill Xena). Troy also mangles Homer's epic but so did Xena.
